#god this hurts me so much #gwen was merlin’s very first friend when he came to camelot all those years ago #and i firmly believe they’ve remained the best of friends since then #merlin was so happy for her when arthur proposed #gwen was there to comfort merlin when gaius was taken away by morgana #merlin was so proud of gwen when she was crowned queen #and now… #now merlin has to doubt one of his very best friends #a woman he thought he could always trust without question#he doesn’t want to believe it but he can’t be blinded by his care for gwen #and what hurts even more is how much this is all going to hurt gwen when she finally returns to her old self #how much she’s going to blame herself for ‘betraying’ the people she loves…again #and i don’t know if it’s possible for any of these characters to go back to the way they used to be #because they’ve been through so much and seen so many bad things #someone fetch me a dagger i would like to cut out my heart and sell it on ebay because this pain is no longer tolerable (achelseabee)

it sort of destroys me how beautiful these tags are and how the show paid this aspect of the relationship basically zero attention during Gwen’s possession.
